How to install half round gutter

Hanging half round gutters can be a challenging task. There are several factors to keep in mind so your system works with optimal performance.

Keys to installation
  1. Keeping your shank perpendicular to the ground
  2. Adjusting your hanger for proper slope
  3. Using the correct mounting type for your overhang and fascia board
  4. keeping your front gutter lip in line with the roof's plane or slightly below
Mounting gutter hangers to ogee wood molding. Notice the mount plate in red. It's made to fit the crown molding flush.
Normal vertical fascia. Mount directly to faceboard with front lip at roof plane or slightly lower.
Mounting your gutter hanger shank to a rafter. Keep shank perpendicular to the ground for proper installation.
Fascia board is at an angle.
Shank is mounted on the roof. Keep shank vertical.
Installing half round gutters on small fascia boards and steep pitched roofs will often need an extension shank.
