Styles of Drip Edge

Not all roof edging is made the same

Different types of roof intstallation call for different types of roofing drip edge.
The most important things to constider are:
  1. The pitch of your roof
  2. The roofing materials you are using
  3. Do you have gutters on your building
  4. Making sure your rainwater runoff hits your gutter
  5. Ensuring you have solid roof sheathing to nail your drip edge firmly to the roof or faceboard
Made to fit the plane of your roof. No overhang lip. Best used for situations where gutter isn't needed.
90 degrees with No lip. Used often with hot tar roofing and roll roofing applications.
Standard drip edge for residential roofing. Provides nice look while ensuring water hits your gutters.
Open faced drip edge. Good for low pitched and flat roofs where a lip may be needed.
Vented drip edge. Provides venting where soffit vents aren't possible
Slag stop. Mostly used in hot roof installations, particularly on non gutter sides.
